Drivers are advised of significant traffic-pattern changes on Highway 99 over three weekends as crews dismantle and remove the old Steveston Highway crossing.

The work begins on  Jan 31, and will affect traffic as follows:

  • Overnight Closures: Highway 99 will be closed in both directions overnight on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, from 9:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. (until 5:00 a.m. on Monday). During these closures, traffic will detour via the highway’s on/off ramps.
  • Daytime: From 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, two lanes in each direction will remain open, but lane shifts will occur to accommodate crews and equipment.

Additional weekend impacts, these traffic pattern changes will also occur during the weekends of February 7-9 and February 21-23. There will be no impact to weekday traffic.

Safety Reminders for Drivers

Drivers are urged to expect delays and consider alternate routes where possible. And to follow detour signage and obey construction zone speed limits.
