Recently, trucks attempting to make a right-hand turn onto Lansdowne Street from 3rd Avenue southbound in downtown Kamloops have encountered difficulties due to ongoing construction.

As a reminder, large and heavy trucks, including composite and triple axel trucks, should avoid the downtown core unless making deliveries within the area.

To facilitate the construction work, all westbound heavy trucks must detour away from the entire construction zone until November 2024, as alternative westbound routes through downtown cannot accommodate large vehicles. The Seymour Street truck route remains open for use.

Deliveries within downtown will be managed through the work zone where possible or will need to use local detours. The City of Kamloops urges all trucking companies and agencies to remind their drivers about the designated detour routes within Kamloops.

A map indicating the proper truck route is available below.
