On January 12, 2021, the Province of Ontario announced new measures to combat COVID-19 and issued a provincial declaration of emergency under the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act.
The Ontario Trucking Association reported on these developments to its members. Since then, OTA continued to seek guidance on what this means for our industry. Here is a summary of the most up-to-date information OTA received. Carriers operating into Ontario should note that this information itself has changed since the January 12th announcement and may continue to change as the province provides direction and clarification.
For the time being, BCTA members who operate into Ontario should seek additional information here from the Ontario health ministry.
