BCTA is proud to announce that over 161 BCTA members, municipal fleet managers, government officials and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) participated in the Future of Zero Emission Commercial Vehicles Seminar. In this inaugural event, BCTA presented their GHG modelling forecast, while OEMs had the opportunity to showcase what zero emission vehicles (ZEV) they have available/or will become available soon for order.

The Seminar was hosted via webinar on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 from 10 AM – 12PM (PDT).

BCTA has been a long-term advocate for outreach and incentives for carriers to adopt fuel efficiency technology and practices that have reliable and documented results in reducing fuel usage and GHG emissions. Heavy-duty vehicles are responsible for approximately 31 percent of GHG emissions from BC’s road transportation sector, or 14 percent of the province’s total GHG inventory. With 92 percent of all consumer goods (by weight) being transported by these vehicles, partnered with BC’s population growth and e-commerce, the commercial sector’s GHG emissions grew by 43 percent over the past decade. This Seminar provided an opportunity to see how the industry can reduce emissions and move towards cleaner transportation.

BCTA would like to thank OEMs for presenting and attendees in participating in this interactive Seminar!

OEM presenters included:

  • Alex Voets, eMobility Sales and Marketing Manager, Daimler
  • Alan Thompson, Regional Manager for Canada, Kenworth
  • Yves Provencher, Sr. Manager Business Development, Lion Electric
  • Scott Barraclough, Sr. Product Manager E-Mobility, Mack
  • Matt Wetta, National Account Manager – Alternative Powertrain, Peterbilt
