The Government of Canada recently passed legislation to make September 30^th a federal statutory holiday called the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation Day is a statutory holiday for federally regulated employees. The Canada Labour Code governs employee entitlements to general holidays in federally-regulated workplaces, including federally-regulated trucking companies.

The Province of BC will engage in a consultation process with business and labour stakeholders for their perspectives on how the national day is commemorated in future years.
