We would like to remind all drivers to please slow down when approaching on-road/roadside work zones and be sure to follow instructions from traffic control personnel, temporary road signs, and traffic control devices.

Driving unsafely in Cone Zone puts both roadside workers and drivers at risk. Between 2011 and 2020, 12 roadside workers were killed and 207 were injured as a result of being hit by a vehicle. Penalties for unsafe driving in cone zones include distracted driving ($368+), speeding ($196+), disobeying traffic devices ($121+), and disobeying a flag person ($196+).

Current projects to note include South Fraser Perimeter Road (Highway 17). Please abide by the construction zone speed in order to keep workers safe.
