BCTA is gathering information from motor carrier members to support our sustainability advocacy and we need your input! The collected data from our Operating Expense/Fleet Turnover survey will help inform our work with the Province in finding ways of evolving to a lower carbon future that benefits everyone.

The focus of the survey is on capital and operating costs. Each company’s information will remain confidential. Providing enough responses are received, aggregated data will be made available to those who completed the survey upon request.

Thank you for taking the time to complete the survey! The information you provide is extremely valuable and allows us to form accurate and detailed conclusions which leads to better advocacy for our members and industry.

Survey Information:

The survey should take approximately 20 minutes to complete with the required information on-hand. The questions will request:

  • Information on your company such as the size, type of operation, and annual revenue
  • Information on both your heavy-duty trucks/buses with GVW 11,794kg or greater, and medium-duty trucks/buses with GVW 4,527 kg to 11,794kg in your fleet
  • The average age of heavy and medium-duty vehicles in your fleet
  • Average operating costs for fuel, insurance, repairs etc.
  • Average kilometres driven by your heavy and medium-duty vehicles
  • Average fuel economy of your heavy and medium-duty vehicles

For ease, this survey is broken out into three parts:

  1. General demographic questions regarding your company (e.g., fleet size, type, operation)
  2. Questions regarding your heavy-duty vehicle fleet
  3. Questions regarding your medium-duty vehicle fleet

Deadline: Monday, May 30
