Each year BCTA ensures that you are equipped with benchmarking data to assist in the process of comparing your company’s compensation and benefit offerings with that of others through the BCTA Compensation Survey. Those who complete the online survey exclusively receive aggregated industry wage and benefit data for the full range of positions in a company.

New to the Compensation Survey is the 2022 BCTA Compensation Survey Report- a comprehensive look at the past three years of survey data. This 23-page report provides an even more exhaustive and extensive look into our province’s labour trends in the trucking industry in an easy-to-read format.

To receive a digital copy of the 2022 report, please contact Gurminder Dhaliwal, BCTA Business Development Representative.

2019-2022 demonstrated remarkable change in the province’s labour market with wages increasing nearly 8% from Q2-2021 to Q1-2022 due to labour shortages. While we will have to wait to see what changes in compensation occurred over the past year (Q1-2022 to Q1-2023), significant changes are anticipated, recognizing:

  1. the vacancy rate in our sector was nearly double the provincial average;
  2. BC saw, for the first time in history, a higher number of job vacancies than people looking for work; and
  3. Canada’s inflation rate set a new 39-year high, with the largest yearly increase since January 1983.
