The BCTA Annual Spring Dinner on April 20th was a resounding success, bringing together BCTA members from across the province. Held at the Coast Hotel and Convention Centre in Langley, attendees had an opportunity to network with other industry professionals, enjoy a delicious meal, and hear an update on the association’s activities from Vice President Cory Paterson.

Cory spoke about the initiatives BCTA is undertaking to support its members and the broader trucking community, including the ongoing driver shortage and the impact of upcoming changing regulations, and highlighted some of the association’s recent successes and programs available. Attendees were especially thrilled to hear about the improvements made to the CleanBC Heavy-duty Vehicle Efficiency Program, including new funding levels, new qualifying equipment, and new vehicle thresholds.

Dave Earle closed the evening with an informative presentation on the current labour force situation, and strategies for recruitment and retention of talent in our industry. His presentation was well-received and sparked some lively discussion among attendees on best practices for attracting workers in a highly competitive sector.

A big thank you goes to Roger Berryman, On Highway Sales Director at Cummins Sales and Service, who kept us engaged and entertained throughout the evening as emcee. BCTA would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all our generous sponsors. Their support and contributions made the event a great success!
