As the winter season approaches, the BC Government is preparing for increased focus on winter maintenance and safety measures. BCTA has asked that the Province include carriers in the review of highway winter maintenance contractors, and they have partially responded to our request.

While we would like this to be rolled out province-wide, at this time the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure is seeking feedback on Service Area 14, which includes the Highway 5 Coquihalla from Walloper Interchange to Portia Interchange. They are looking for three to five carriers that regularly travel in this service area to provide feedback on their drivers’ experience. This is done through various methods including in person meetings, telephone or online Teams meeting formats and takes approximately 30 to 60 minutes.

If you have an interest in this corridor, please submit a request to be part of this stakeholder group to Brad Bushill, Operations Manager at Brad.Bushill@gov.bc.ca.
