June 24, 2024

With improvements underway on Highway 1 between 216th and 264th streets, drivers should be prepared for changes in traffic patterns due to construction activities.

Starting Monday, June 24, 2024, the fast lane on Highway 1 in each direction between 216th Street and 256th Street will be closed overnight.

The eastbound fast lane will be closed:

  • Monday to Friday from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.
  • Saturday and Sunday from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m.

The westbound fast lane will be closed:

  • Monday to Friday from 8:30 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • Saturday and Sunday from 8:30 p.m. to 8 a.m.

These closures are necessary to allow safe progress within the highway median and will continue every night starting Monday, June 24 until further notice.

Drivers should be aware that a construction zone speed limit of 80 km/h is in effect and enforced. It’s important to obey all signage and stay alert to the presence of roadside workers.
