The Trans Mountain Expansion Project is a twinning of the existing pipeline between Strathcona County, Alberta, and Burnaby, BC. Construction activities began in the United Boulevard area in late 2020 and will take approximately 12-18 months to complete.
Currently, construction in the United Boulevard area will be completed in phases and mostly limited to the two northern lanes.
Typical work hours will be between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. from Monday to Saturday. Work may take place outside this time frame. In some locations, extended hours of work or periodic night work will occur.
Traffic Impacts:
- Due to construction activities along Hartley Avenue, there will be one-way westbound traffic only from Fawcett Road to the ICBC parking lot worksite.
- The southbound lane approaching the ICBC parking lot worksite will be closed for the duration of construction.
The latest information on lane restrictions, road closures, and alternative access plans can be found here.
