British Columbia
BC has no winter weight orders/zones, though it does have to provide updates on seasonal load restrictions. This program identifies and imposes load restrictions on roads, or portions of roads that have been weakened by excess water in the road base.
Visit DriveBC for high elevation weather forecasts for selected mountain passes in BC, from Environment Canada.
And don’t forget to chain-up! BC’s annual winter tire and chain requirements are now in effect. For additional resources including winter hazard alerts, read our Bulletin article Reminder: Chain Requirements as of October 1st.
