Starting April 4 and continuing for approximately two weeks, utility relocation work will be conducted at the Highway 17-Old Yale Road intersection. As much work as possible will be done during the day, but when lane closures are required, work will take place at night to minimize disruption to traffic.

This work will be completed in stages and will require the following lane closures on Highway 17 between Tannery Road and Old Yale Road, between 7:00 pm and 6:00 am:

Highway 17 Eastbound and Westbound:

  • Highway 17 will be reduced to one travel lane in both the eastbound and westbound directions
  • At times, the left turn lanes onto Old Yale Road for both eastbound and westbound traffic will also be closed and left turns will be restricted
  • The shoulder bike lanes on Highway 17 will be maintained during the construction work

Old Yale Road Northbound and Southbound:

  • Northbound and southbound traffic on Old Yale Road will be directed to turn right onto Highway 17 (the through and left turn movements will be restricted). There won’t be access to Bridge Road via Old Yale Road

All traffic pattern changes will be well signed. Traffic control personnel will be on site when required and drivers are asked to follow traffic signage and obey traffic control personnel.
