As part of the Highway 91/17 Upgrade Project, the new interchange at Highway 91C and Nordel Way is expected to open on July 4, 2022. Project construction activities will continue through Spring 2023, with the next milestone anticipated later this summer with the opening of the Interchange at Highway 17 and Highway 91C.

In order to complete this work, a full closure of the intersection at Nordel Way/Weigh Scale Road near Highway 91C is required over several days from June 30 to July 4, accompanied by lane closures on Highway 91C between Highway 17 and Highway 91. Road users can expect significant traffic delays (approximately 30+ minutes) throughout the area while this work is underway and should plan to take alternative routes to reach their destination. 

Traffic Impacts:

• Various lane closures on Hwy 91C (between Hwy 17 & 91) will be in effect from approximately 6 pm on Thursday, June 30 to 5 am on Monday, July 4. Please see Map A below for details
• One lane will be maintained in both directions throughout this area 
• As construction progresses during this period, both westbound and eastbound traffic will be shifted south onto the new bridge structure, at the Highway 91C and Nordel Way interchange. Please see Map B below for details 
• The new Highway 91C and Nordel Way interchange will open to traffic at approximately 5:00 am on July 4
• New traffic movements will be introduced, including access to Nordel Way from Highway 91C. Please see the Map B below for details
• Full Closure of Nordel Way between River Way and Highway 91C: a planned full closure of this intersection, located just north of Highway 91C, will be in effect from approximately 6 pm on Thursday, June 30 to 5 am on Monday, July 4. Please see Map A below for details. 
• Access to businesses on Nordel Way, just north of Highway 91C, will be maintained via River Road. Detour routes are included in the table below and in Map C. 
• There will be no vehicle access to Nordel Way from Highway 91C.  
• The Nordel Weigh Scale will also be closed to commercial vehicles. The Nordel Way Truck Parking Area, temporarily located at 10008-10022 River Road, will be accessible via the detour routes to River Road.
