If you are a carrier in the Lower Mainland that is required to obtains municipal term permits for oversize vehicles, please join us and TransLink online on September 28th at 10 am (PST) for an update on their municipal permit condition validation study. The purpose of this study, is if it is possible to move to auto approvable permits for a series of vehicle configurations, including cranes, concrete pump trucks, low beds, etc. across all the whole of Metro Vancouver.
However, to ensure the work of the study and key assumptions are accurate, it is critical to obtain carrier feedback, which is the purpose of this meeting.
Key items that TransLink will present include:
- Term permit envelope and proposed municipal conditions
- Proposed potential term permit municipal network
- Results of tier 1 and 2 term permit testing for the 13 control vehicles (including cranes, concrete pump trucks, low bed, etc.)
- Feedback from our sector on a potential two-tier permit system and potential enhanced pilot car requirement to expand available auto approvable municipal permits for oversized vehicles.
