As part of the Highway 91/17 Upgrade Project, the new Nordel Way crossing over Highway 91 will open in early October. Key improvements include upgraded ramps to and from Delta in preparation to open additional lanes for the Nordel Way crossing over Highway 91.
With the opening of this interchange, drivers will experience a number of new traffic pattern changes in the area. Please see the map below for location details.
What to expect:
- Starting October 7, 2022, traffic for Nordel Way east will use the new bridge structure at the interchange.
- Nordel Way eastbound traffic for Highway 91 northbound will use the new loop ramp to access the highway and the Alex Fraser Bridge.
- A new signalized intersection will be in effect at the top of the Highway 91 northbound offramp for traffic turning left for Nordel Way west and Highway 91C westbound.
- Traffic will no longer use the existing Highway 91 northbound offramp for Highway 91C westbound as this road will be closed. Northbound traffic on Highway 91 will take exit 8 and follow signage for Nordel Way west.
- A signalized intersection will be in effect for traffic on Nordel Way westbound to access Highway 91 southbound, as well as traffic for Nordel Way east.
- Drivers are encouraged to follow new signage, including overhead guide signs to help navigate the area.
