Highway 91/17 Upgrade Project - Highway 17/River Road Interchange Closure

As part of the final remaining works on the Highway 91/17 Upgrade Project, a series of nighttime temporary full closures at the River Road interchange connecting to Highway 17 will be required in early April. Please see maps below for closure locations and detour details.

Traffic Impacts:

Full closures will be in effect at the following locations (see map A for location details):
- Offramp from Highway 17 eastbound to access River Road
- Interchange ramp between the River Road roundabout and teardrop
- Onramp from River Road teardrop to Highway 17 eastbound
Closures are anticipated to take place at the following dates and times:
- April 2 from 1 a.m. to 4 a.m.
- April 3 from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. on April 4, and from 11 p.m. on April 4 to 5 a.m. on April 5
- April 6 from 1 a.m. to 4 a.m.
While the closures are in effect, the following detour routes will be available (see map B for detour routes):
- For traffic on River Road eastbound, travel to Highway 17 westbound and use the interchange loop ramp to Highway 91C eastbound. Exit to the roundabout at the Highway 91C and Nordel Way Interchange and follow signs to return to Highway 91C westbound, and take the interchange ramp to Highway 17 eastbound (see red detour route)
- For traffic on Highway 91C westbound, continue on Highway 17 westbound and travel to 80 Street to access River Road (see green detour route)

Additional signage will be in place prior to the closure to inform drivers about this temporary traffic pattern change. Please use caution while travelling in this area and obey road/construction signs, posted speed limits and traffic control personnel.
