The Kicking Horse Canyon will continue to have intermittent stoppages (up to 2 minutes) and full closures (up to 2 hours) on the Trans-Canada Highway through the months of May and June. Highway 1 will remain reduced to 2 lanes of traffic through the Canyon for the duration of the planned work.

Updated closure revisions due to weather. Two 2-hour full closures have been added on May 30 at: 5am – 7am and 9am – 11am.

Drivers are also reminded that the speed limit on this section of the Trans-Canada Highway is reduced to 50 km/h until the work is completed.
