The Commercial Vehicle Safety and Enforcement (CVSE) has recently released an updated version of its Commercial Transport Procedures Manual.

Now live on the CVSE website and includes various amendments aimed at improving clarity and administrative efficiency. While many of the changes are minor, such as updating contact information and refining wording, several key updates have been made. Below is a summary of the most significant changes by section.

Key Changes in the Updated Procedures Manual Include:

1. Chapter 1, Section 1.2.5.D.iv: Specialty Vehicles

Specialty vehicles, such as welding or service trucks working on a single job site, are now permitted to be used for personal transportation to and from the site, such as traveling to a hotel, provided they return to the same job site to continue working.

2. Chapter 3, Section 3.8: Seasonal Load Restrictions

Updates have been made regarding seasonal load restrictions to ensure vehicles comply with the latest guidelines during different times of the year.

3. Chapter 3, Section 3.7.7: 2025 Holiday Travel Restrictions Calendar

A new holiday travel restrictions calendar for 2025 has been added, helping transport operators plan their routes and schedules around anticipated restrictions.

4. Chapter 5, Section 5.3.9.D: Inclusion of Snooper Trucks

Snooper trucks have been added to this section, providing detailed guidelines and regulations for their operation.

5. Chapter 6, Section 6.3.3.C: Pre-Approved 85T Routes

There have been additions to the pre-approved 85T routes, expanding the network of routes available for vehicles of this weight category.
