Travelers on the Sea to Sky Highway should be prepared for lane closures and potential delays through Lions Bay over the next two weeks due to planned highway-resurfacing work. From August 6 until August 15, crews will be resurfacing approximately four kilometers of Highway 99 southbound through Lions Bay, stretching from Magnesia Creek to Lonetree Creek. During this period, one southbound lane will be closed 24 hours a day.

Additionally, from August 12 until August 15, drivers can expect northbound left-lane closures through Lions Bay. During this time, southbound traffic will be redirected into a counterflow in the northbound left lane from 5:30 p.m. until 6:30 a.m. Lions Bay detours will be in effect to manage the altered traffic patterns and minimize disruptions, though travelers should anticipate slower travel times and potential congestion.

Motorists are advised to plan ahead by allowing extra travel time to accommodate the lane closures and potential delays.
