The BC Trucking Association's 34th Annual Golf Tournament, held on September 10, was a resounding success, bringing together industry professionals for a day of fun, networking, and philanthropy. Hosted at the beautiful Meadow Gardens Golf Club in Pitt Meadows, this annual event is not only a testament to the camaraderie within the trucking community but also a fundraiser for Make-A-Wish Canada, BC & Yukon.

The day kicked off with a welcoming luncheon, providing attendees an opportunity to mingle and connect before hitting the links. Networking is a cornerstone of BCTA's mission, and this event offered ample opportunities for members to build valuable relationships.

As golfers teed off under the beautiful blue sky, the course was buzzing with excitement and friendly competition. Participants enjoyed a variety of draws and challenges at the holes designed to add an extra layer of fun to the day. The Longest Drive challenge at Peterbilt Pacific and HUB International’s holes saw some impressive swings. Meanwhile, the Closest to the Pin contest at Cummins and Ocean Trailer’s hole had players showcasing their precision, with two winners taking the grand prize with an incredible shot just inches from the hole.

One of the highlights was the Putting Contest, where participants tested their skills on SafetyDriven’s hole-in-one challenge Everyone battled for the generous gift card grand prize, and the excitement led to some truly thrilling moments on the green!

As the day progressed, the camaraderie and sportsmanship on display were a testament to the strong sense of community within BCTA. The tournament wrapped up with an awards dinner, where winners of the day’s challenges were celebrated, and draw prizes were distributed. The dinner was also a prime opportunity for further networking, as members relaxed and enjoyed a delicious meal together.

A crucial aspect of this event is its charitable component. Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors and participants, we are thrilled to announce that we raised over $1,000 for Make-A-Wish Canada, BC & Yukon. This contribution will go a long way in helping fulfill the wishes of children facing critical illnesses, providing them and their families with hope and strength during challenging times. To get involved and donate, visit their website at MakeAWish.ca.

BCTA extends our heartfelt gratitude to all the sponsors who made this event possible. A special thank you to our venue sponsors, Dieseltech Truck Repair & Mobile Service and Scamp Transport Ltd., whose support was instrumental in the success of the tournament.

The 34th Annual BCTA Golf Tournament was more than just a day on the course; it was a celebration of community, a chance to strengthen professional relationships, and an opportunity to give back to a worthy cause. As we look back on the memories made and the funds raised, we are reminded of the importance of coming together to support one another and those in need.

We look forward to seeing everyone again next year for the 35th Annual Golf Tournament, where we hope to build on this year's success and continue fostering the spirit of collaboration and charity within the BC trucking community. Until then, keep swinging and driving forward!
