October 2, 2024

Travellers on Highway 1 near Goldstream should prepare for delays as resurfacing and road improvements are scheduled to begin Friday, October 4, 2024. The project will cover a 3.5-kilometre section of the Malahat, stretching from south of the Aspen Road intersection to south of the recently repaired Tunnel Hill washout site.

Construction is set to take place Sunday to Thursday, 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Single-lane alternating traffic will be in effect from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., with drivers facing delays of up to 20 minutes.

To avoid interruptions, drivers are encouraged to plan their routes outside of work hours. The resurfacing is expected to be completed by the end of October. Drivers should adhere to posted signage and follow directions from traffic-management personnel for everyone's safety.
