BC Hydro has launched its 2024 Project Implementation Offer, inviting applications for two distinct funding streams aimed at bolstering energy efficiency and supporting electrification across various sectors in British Columbia.

Applications are open through December 6, 2024, with priority given to initiatives in the transportation sector that advance electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure, energy management, and electrified transportation options.

Funding Streams

The 2024 Project Implementation Offer is divided into two funding categories to support both individual organizations and collaborative, multi-partner initiatives:

  1. Individual Stream: This stream provides funding up to 50% of total project costs, with a maximum BC Hydro contribution of $30,000 per project.
  2. Multi-Partner Stream: For larger, collaborative projects involving two or more partners, BC Hydro offers up to 50% of total project costs, capped at a maximum contribution of $75,000.

Transportation Sector

BC Hydro prioritizes applications that advance EV infrastructure, electrified transportation, and energy management in the transportation sector. Key areas include:

  • EV-Ready Designs for New Buildings: Supporting EV management systems and best practices in new developments.
  • Charging Infrastructure: Expanding EV charging access in existing buildings and private spaces.
  • Energy Efficiency: Enhancing efficiency for electric vehicles and micro-mobility.
  • Medium- and Heavy-Duty Transport Electrification: Removing barriers for electrification across various transport modes.
  • Stakeholder Training: Building expertise among property managers, vehicle operators, and mechanics.

Applicants can refer to Metro Vancouver’s Keeping it Current guide for more collaborative EV charging strategies.
