The Victoria Hill community in New Westminster has raised concerns about trucks cutting through their neighborhood, despite clear signage at Royal Avenue and McBride Boulevard prohibiting truck traffic.

Victoria Hill, located to the east of McBride Boulevard and north of Columbia and Royal Avenues, is not designed to accommodate large vehicles. The narrow roadways within the area make it challenging for trucks to navigate safely, often leading to unintended damage to curbs and signage.

Truck drivers are reminded that East Royal Avenue through the Victoria Hill community is not a permitted route. Compliance with these restrictions is essential to ensure safety for all road users and to protect community infrastructure.

Members are encouraged to share this reminder with their drivers and reinforce the importance of adhering to local traffic regulations. The Commercial Vehicle Safety and Enforcement (CVSE) team has been informed of the situation and will continue to monitor compliance in the area.
