Member Update: TRANSource Freightways, Building Something from Nothing

TRANSource Freightways, a BCTA operating member, was recently profiled in Truck News/Today’s Trucking.

“Starting in 2005 with a single truck hauling furniture into the city of Vancouver, it was not long before TRANSource Freightways had established a presence and reputation in Canada’s west as a reliable and well-rounded regional carrier.

Today, TRANSource boasts an impressive fleet made up of around 50 day cabs, 50 five-tons, 175 highway tractors, and 600 trailers.”

BCTA’s Seventh COVID-19 Survey Results

BCTA’s seventh member survey regarding the impact of COVID-19 continues to show decreased revenues as the top impact for all members. Still, there are some revenue improvements, and the support for government COVID-19 measures remains high.

The surveys received a very strong response rate, at 14 percent of freight carrier members, 50 percent of motor coach members, and 14 percent of associate members.

Thanks from a Fellow Road User

Every now and then, BCTA gets a message from a road user wanting to thank truck drivers for their professionalism. Joy, who commutes on Highway 99, sent these words via e-mail and gave us permission to post.

I'm not sure if this is the best place to say this, but I wanted to say a quick thank you to truck drivers! 

I drive on the 99 and every morning I see people merging badly. The trucks move over to the left lane to give the people room to merge and I am very appreciative of how conscientious they are!
