On January 5, 2021, James Richardson & Sons, Limited and Wescan Capital Inc. announced acquisition of 100 percent of the issued and outstanding shares of BCTA member Bison Transport Inc. and its affiliated companies.
Winnipeg-based Bison was established in 1969 by Duncan M. Jessiman. Wescan is the privately-owned holding company of the Jessiman family.

By tradition, the last Board meeting of the year precedes our annual Christmas Party on the first Thursday in December, and members are welcome to attend. In-person celebrations are still out for 2020, but the Board meeting will take place via Zoom as scheduled.

BCTA re-issued our COVID-19 survey for all our motor carrier, motor coach and associate members directly via e-mail on April 29, 2020, for an update on how the pandemic is affecting your operations. If you have not yet completed the second survey, please take a few minutes to do so – accurate data helps us to serve you.
We live in times of turmoil and change. Climate, technology, demographics, and population growth all influence our lives. We can be overwhelmed by these changes or choose to re-define how we live and work. The trucking industry must continue to be flexible and open to the opportunities disruption presents. National Trucking Week, September 2 to 8, is a great time to consider where to go from here.
