As BC Trucking Association (BCTA) concludes Year Five of the CleanBC Heavy-duty Vehicle Efficiency (HDVE) Program, we are thrilled to announce that the program funds have been completely exhausted. We want to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who participated. Your involvement has been instrumental in making this initiative successful and in steering the trucking industry toward a low-emission future.
Due to the significant response, no further applications will be approved for Year Five. Additionally, BCTA wants to inform you that any qualifying equipment purchased and/or installed between August 1, 2024, and the beginning of Year Six (date yet to be determined) will NOT be eligible for CleanBC HDVE Program rebates.
We are processing all applications received in the order they were received. We will not have funding available for all applications. Once we have funded all approved applications and exhausted all remaining funds for year 5, we will be in touch with any applicant who will not receive funding due to the exhaustion of government funding. We expect this process to be concluded by the end of next week.
Looking ahead, we expect to announce the start date for Year Six shortly after September 2, 2024. However, please note that there will be changes to the program. Due to a decrease in government funding, there will be a reduction in incentive limits per vehicle and a reduction in funding available per fleet. In addition, certain greenhouse gas (GHG) reducing technologies that have become commonly available on qualifying heavy-duty vehicles will no longer be funded under the HDVE Program.
BCTA appreciates your continued support and commitment to reducing emissions in the trucking industry. Stay tuned for more details about Year Six and thank you once again for your participation and dedication to a cleaner, greener future.
