Beginning July 4, 2021, evening intermittent single-lane closures and overnight full closures will occur on Trans-Canada Highway between Golden and west of the Kicking Horse rest area. Intermittent single-lane closures will occur weekly from Sunday night to Friday night. Overnight full closures will continue from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. (MDT) Sunday night to Friday morning for the month.
Traffic Impacts:
Intermittent Lane Closures:
- Evening lane closures Sunday, July 4th to Friday, July 30th weekly
- Sunday to Thursday from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday evening from 8 p.m. to Saturday morning at 7 a.m. (MDT)
- Expect up to 30-minute travel delays
Overnight Full Closures:
- Occur Sunday, July 4th to Friday, July 30th weekly
- Sunday to Thursday from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. (MDT)
- Highway will be closed between Golden and the project limits west of the Kicking Horse Rest Area
During these periods, Highways 93S and 95 will be available as an alternate route, with an additional driving time of approximately 90 minutes.
There will be no closures or stoppages due to construction on the Canada Day long weekend, from
Wednesday, June 30th at 12 p.m. to Sunday, July 4th at 8 p.m. (MDT).
