The Government of Canada would like to remind the industry that submitting ArriveCAN data remains a mandatory requirement before entering Canada. Failure to submit information through ArriveCAN may result in fines or enforcement action.

As of November 30, 2021, all exempt essential service providers have to provide their vaccination status in ArriveCAN. This must be done even if you are allowed to enter as unvaccinated. Vaccinated essential service providers will be asked to upload proof of vaccination.  Drivers who are using the reusable receipt must download the latest version of ArriveCAN or sign into the online web platform to re-submit their information and get a new receipt if they have not used ArriveCAN since November 30th. ArriveCAN data can be submitted 72 hours in advance of cross border travel.

On January 15, 2022, the vaccination mandate comes into force, meaning exempt essential travellers must be fully vaccinated to get an ArriveCAN receipt (unless they’re exempt from the vaccination requirement).

The Canadian Trucking Alliance (CTA) will continue to work with the Public Health Agency of Canada on updating its ArriveCAN training package for industry, and will provide an updated training video in the near future.
