As the federal government’s ban on international cruise ships has been lifted as of November 1st, 2021, and the industry prepares for the 2022 season, please ensure your employees Port Passes are up to date with the Marine Transportation Security Clearance Program (MTSCP).

Note: Those who already have a FAST card or YVR clearance do not need to apply.

  • Commercial drivers with FAST cards can enter as long as they agree to abide by the procedures and requirements identified by the operator of the marine facility or port administration. Other than a Port Pass, they do not require additional security clearance.
  • Commercial drivers with YVR clearance can have BCTA request their clearance information be transferred to their Port Pass. Transfers can take up to one week.

In addition, please note the following important information regarding access to the Ceres Cruise Ship Terminal: Mandatory COVID-19 vaccination requirements are now in place for employees and travellers at the terminal. Port Authorities are also required by Transport Canada to develop a vaccine policy for subcontractors. Ceres is currently working with Transport Canada regarding this policy and will update all stakeholders shortly.

For more information on the Marine Transportation Security Clearance Program, please visit our website.

To inquire about a tour of the Ceres Terminal or training for subcontractors, please email achow@ceresglobal.com.

If you have any questions, please contact BCTA Port Pass Coordinator, Sharon Hansen, at portpass@bctrucking.com or 604-888-5319 ext.218.
