Due to rock blasting activity for the Kennedy Hill Improvement Project, four-hour daytime closures on weekdays, between 11:00 am and 3:00 pm, are scheduled to occur until the end of June.

Safety improvements for the Kennedy Hill Improvement Project include:

• Widening the highway to accommodate two full lanes and paved shoulder
• Horizontal realignments to remove sharp blind corners
• Vertical realignments to reduce grade along the hill
• Blasting and excavating bedrock
• Providing for rock slope stabilization and slope meshing
• Installing four cantilever bridge structures to straighten the alignment and reduce rock excavation volumes
• The provision of a rest area, including an intersection to safely access the new facility
