BC Gradually Lifts Restrictions With COVID-19 Restart Plan
On May 25th, the Province announced an extensive four-step plan to gradually lift COVID-19 health restrictions. The progress of the Restart plan will be measured by the vaccination rate of adults, COVID-19 case counts, and COVID-19 hospitalizations and mortality rate.

The BC government has launched a $50 million grant program to support tourism across the province during COVID-19. The Major Anchor Attractions Program provides one-time emergency funding to major anchor attractions and tour bus companies that service tourism attractions.

Construction Notice for Highway 91/17 Upgrade Project Starting June 6th
Construction activities for the Highway 91/17 Upgrade Project are now underway. Starting Sunday, June 6th, a retaining wall located on Highway 17 will be removed and rebuilt closer to River Road. This will take approximately 7-10 nights to complete.

BCTA Meets with the City of North Vancouver on the Esplanade Complete Street Design
On May 26, 2021 BCTA met with the City of North Vancouver to discuss the modelling outputs and design criteria for Esplanade.

Highway 4- Kennedy Hill Closure Notice Starting May 27th
Due to rock blasting activity for the Kennedy Hill Improvement Project, four-hour daytime closures on weekdays, between 11:00 am and 3:00 pm, are scheduled to occur until the end of June.

Intermittent Lane Closures & Overnight Full Closures on Highway 1 in Kicking Horse Canyon in June 2021
As Phase 4 construction continues for the Kicking Horse Canyon Project, evening lane closures and overnight full closures will be implemented throughout the month of June between Golden and west of the Kicking Horse rest area.

Major Traffic Pattern Changes Along Broadway Beginning June 5, 2021
Due to the Broadway Subway Project, traffic pattern changes along Broadway between Kingsway and Columbia Street will begin on June 5th. Work to transition the traffic configuration to three lanes on Broadway (2 eastbound and 1 westbound) will start the evening of Saturday, June 5
