As part of the Highway 91/17 Upgrade Project, the new off-ramp from Highway 17 westbound to River Road and 96 Street is anticipated to open to traffic mid June 2021. The new exit is located approximately 500 metres in advance of the Highway 91C/Highway 17 intersection.

The right-hand turn lane from Highway 17 will permanently close once the new exit opens.

Traffic Impacts:

  • Evening lane and shoulder closures, along with minor stoppages during implementation of the new ramp.
  • Ongoing single lane alternating traffic will continue on River Road from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. until the ramp opens.

Once the new ramp is open, traffic accessing River Road and 96 Street will exit Highway 17 westbound at this location and travel within the new (final alignment) roundabout. In the short term, oversized vehicles can call 587-879-4485 to access 96 Street following the closure.

Please use caution when travelling in these areas, and obey road and construction signs, posted speed limits, and traffic control personnel.
