The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) and US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) held a Free and Secure Trade (FAST) enrollment event at the at the Aldergrove Port of Entry during September 20-24, which processed over 450 new FAST applicants.

The FAST program is a commercial clearance program designed to ensure security while expediting legitimate trade across the Canada-US border. The program also allows qualifying carriers, drivers, and other supply chain partners access to privileges such as FAST lane access, and the ability to meet requirements to participate in bilateral border trade and security programs.

Thank you again to both CBSA and CBP who have worked collaboratively during the COVID-19 pandemic to navigate border restrictions and conduct in-person interview for programs such as FAST. BCTA would also like to thank the staff of the Canadian Trucking Alliance (CTA) for working with BCTA and CBSA Headquarter officials to secure the event. CTA is optimistic that further events will be scheduled in the months ahead and will update members as more information becomes available.
