The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure has provided an updated map for Highway 3 that points out large grades, curves that necessitate speed advisories that are lower than the posted limit, restroom facilities, as well as key facts and messages for the corridor.

The map is divided up into four with important items to note for each section:

  • Hope to Princeton
  • Princeton to Grand Forks
  • Grand Forks to Creston
  • Creston to Alberta Border

BCTA will provide any updates to the route and will post it online, however please continue to visit DriveBC.ca for the most current information.

RCMP and CVSE have indicated that there will be zero tolerance applied so ensure that all drivers are aware of Highway 3 conditions including posted speed limits and curve advisory limits, and that all commercial vehicles are carrying chains. Before any trip, plan and prepare ahead— conditions can change quickly so it is important to have supplies such as food and water available.

The safety of all road users is paramount as we navigate special interim measures in response to the damage that many of the highways have experienced. Please be sure to share this map with drivers in order to be as prepared as possible.
