On January 3, 2022, James Richardson & Sons Limited and Bison Transport (Bison) announced that Bison acquired Hartt Transportation Systems Inc. (Hartt) effective December 31, 2021.

Hartt is headquartered in Bangor, Maine and is based in the Northeastern US with 360+ tractors and 2100+ trailers. Hartt was founded in 1948 and was a second-generation family owned business until it was acquired. Bison’s President & CEO, Rob Penner, believes that the acquisition will strengthen their cross-border offerings and establish Bison Transport USA as a Tier 1 US Domestic fleet.
