Members and provincial associations across the country have been expressing their concerns about the logistical and operational issues caused by inter-provincial trucking barriers. These have been a significant cause of inefficiencies in supply chains and delays for drivers, which is why the Canadian Trucking Alliance (CTA) is addressing the federal Minister of Inter-Governmental Affairs about these issues.

Examples of inter-provincial trade barriers include a jurisdiction requiring flags instead of lights on oversize loads, or some jurisdictions only allowing travel during full day light instead of dusk and dawn hours.

If you have any feedback or comments regarding inter-provincial trade barriers you have experienced that cause constraints or inefficiencies for your operations, please contact Cory Paterson, BCTA Vice President. The deadline to provide feedback is Thursday, May 4.
