The City of Kamloops has informed BCTA that Lansdowne Street from 1st Avenue to 7th Avenue will be closed to all commercial vehicles from April 28 to approximately November 15 to support the Tranquille Sanitary Sewer Project.

Commercial vehicles will be detoured west on Highway 1, and if they miss that turnoff, they will be detoured onto Columbia St.  No commercial vehicles will be permitted in the downtown core, except for those making deliveries to local businesses. The Seymour Street truck route will still be open for use. Digital message boards will be positioned to reinforce this message.

Please see the City of Kamloops truck route map here reflecting the necessary detour that will be in effect for the duration of the project.

BCTA has notified the City that this was a late notice, and reminded our key contact on the importance of the transportation sector and the need for advanced notice for planning and logistics.
