ICBC has announced plans to repurpose its Centralized Estimating Facility (CEF) at 1575 Hartley Avenue in Coquitlam to accommodate commercial truck testing. This decision comes as part of an ongoing effort to enhance service efficiency and provide equitable access to road tests for commercial vehicles in the Lower Mainland.

ICBC typically conducts around 30,000 road tests monthly, including those for large commercial vehicles. However, due to the space requirements for these tests, the organization has been actively seeking suitable locations within the region. Following a comprehensive search, the CEF lot has been identified as the most suitable location for meeting the needs of commercial truck testing.

This initiative is in its early stages, with ICBC currently reviewing its workflow and developing a transition plan.
