Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) has launched two informative posters to help employers and employees understand their rights and obligations around proper worker classification. As misclassification can have significant legal and financial implications, ESDC’s Misclassification Team aims to educate and inform the industry by distributing these posters across Canada, including at strategic locations such as rest stops and weigh stations.

The posters aim to capture the attention of both employers and employees by:

  • providing brief notes on misclassification
  • connecting through a QR code to detailed information on misclassification and how to report it
  • providing a recently published Misclassification in the Road Transportation Industry Awareness Kit.

ESDC encourages the industry to share these posters widely within their networks. Both employee- and employer-focused versions are available for download in English and French:
