Transport 2050 – Metro Vancouver Transportation Strategy Approved
TransLink’s 30-year strategy to make transportation in Metro Vancouver convenient, reliable, affordable, safe, comfortable, and environmentally sustainable has been approved. The 30-year transportation plan includes over 100 action items that covers the entirety of TransLink’s jurisdiction, including management of the Major Road Network (i.e., Truck Route) and Regional Goods Movement Strategy.
BCTA Reiterates Industry Key Safety Initiatives With Government
In January 2022, BCTA submitted a letter to the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure (MoTI) in response to the concerns raised in the Independent Audit of Commercial Vehicle Safety conducted in 2018 by the Office of the Auditor General of British Columbia.

These targets are essential for the provincial government to deliver on its commitment to reduce climate pollution and one our sector has a large role to play.

Register Before It’s Too Late! CleanBC Heavy-duty Vehicle Efficiency Program Course
Time is running out to apply for Year Three CleanBC Heavy-duty Vehicle Efficiency (HDVE) Program incentives!
Complete the HDVE Program course and apply for incentives of up to $15,000 per vehicle and $100,000 per fleet for the purchase and installation of qualifying fuel-saving equipment. The program is only available until March 31, 2022, or until the funds are fully allocated — whichever comes first.

BCTA Flood Relief Cross Border Webinar Highlights
BCTA would like to thank everyone who attended our Flood Relief Cross Border Webinar on Monday, December 13th. We had a great response in registrations from carriers across the country who wanted to learn more about the requirements and temporary interim measures put in place for Canadian carriers to transport in the US. BCTA provided up-to-date information on available routes and discussed timelines and configuration of re-openings, as well as exemption deadlines.
Donate to the BC Floods: The Canadian Red Cross and Trucks For Change
The Canadian Red Cross is committed to providing emergency services to those affected by the floods and extreme weather in Southern BC as well as support and recovery needs as they arise. Trucks For Change, the Canadian Trucking Alliance (CTA), and the provincial trucking associations are reaching out to the trucking industry to support the thousands of people who have been displaced, and continue to need food, supplies, and assistance.
