Yard Storage Needed: Salvation Army

The Salvation Army is looking to secure a lease for yard-space storage for approximately thirty-five to forty 53-foot trailers in or near Langley.

By identifying opportunities and policy recommendations for the BCTA Board to consider in support of safe, efficient movement of commercial vehicles and goods via marine transportation, the committee helps to provide direction to BCTA staff to lobby those agencies.

(October 18, 2022) For over five years, the Canadian Trucking Alliance (CTA) has been calling for action on a tax and labour scheme that has emerged in the trucking industry. Known as Driver Inc, this scheme radically breaks with both the traditional employee and owner-operator models. This practice opens the door to the possibility of widespread tax evasion and allows companies to sidestep the Canada Labour Code and all the rights and entitlements afforded to employees.
