As of August 6th, the BC Government has reported 81.8% of eligible people 12 and older in BC have received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, and 68.9% have received their second dose. Although tremendous progress has been made with the vaccine roll out, the push is now for those who are not yet fully vaccinated to take advantage of the Vax for BC opportunities across BC.

Government of Canada Extending Subsidies and Lockdown Support
The Government of Canada is proposing to extend the Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy, Canada Emergency Rent Subsidy and Lockdown Support until October 23, 2021, and increase the wage and rent subsidy rates between August 29 and September 25, 2021.

The BC Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure (MoTI) is inviting you to take their 2021 online survey about the services offered to British Columbians and the travelling public.
The customer satisfaction survey will help MoTI know how satisfied you are with their services, where they can improve and where to focus their resources. This year’s survey contains new questions about active transportation, winter road and highway maintenance, the Passenger Transportation Branch and priorities for Commercial Vehicle Safety and Enforcement.

Trucking HR Canada Introduces New Student Work Placement Subsidy to Help Employers
Trucking HR Canada has introduced a stream to their Career ExpressWay Program that will increase the job-readiness of students registered in various transportation, logistics, and supply chain related programs at Canadian post-secondary institutions.
Funded through the Government of Canada’s Student Work Placement Program, the initiative supports employers by subsidizing the cost of hiring students, while providing students the benefit of valuable work experience.
