International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA) Requirements Workshop was a Success
On May 5, 2021, the Ministry of Finance provided a presentation to over 70 representatives from transportation companies across the province to assist carriers in understanding their IFTA and International Registration Plan (IRP) requirements, including registration, record keeping, tax returns, common reporting errors, refunds, audits, and compliance.
Join Us! Participate in BCTA/ BC Ferries Task Force on May 6th from 10AM to 12PM!
From the March 15, 2021 meeting, it was agreed that BCTA and BC Ferries will establish a Task Force, including representatives from BCTA (staff and cross-sectoral motor carrier members) and BC Ferries with the purpose to identify both short-term and long-term opportunities to further support the efficient movement of goods and for carriers to be compliant with commercial hours of service regulations.
Reminder: Winter Tire and Chain Up Regulations Remain in Place for Most B.C. Highways!
Winter tires or chains are required on most routes in British Columbia from October 1 to April 30. For select highways not located through mountain passes and/or high snowfall areas, such as The Sea to Sky Highway in the Lower Mainland and the Malahat on Vancouver Island, winter tire regulations ended on March 31.
