Glen MacInnes has been appointed as the new container trucking commissioner and Karm Jauhal has been appointed deputy commissioner. The appointments will replace outgoing commissioner Michael Crawford and fill the vacant deputy commissioner position.
The electronic logging device (ELD) mandate for federally mandated carriers will take effect on January 1, 2023.
The Canadian Council of Motor Transport Administrators (CCMTA) has advised that the provinces and territories are firmly committed to enforcing the ELD mandate in January 2023 and no announcements or further delays are expected.
