The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) monitors the extent to which commercial goods are compliant with revenue and accounting requirements by conducting trade compliance verifications.
Effective for reporting periods that start on April 1, 2022, all taxpayers with motor fuel and carbon tax accounts on a scheduled filing frequency (i.e. monthly or quarterly) must file their tax returns online using eTaxBC. This free and secure online BC government application gives you access to a variety of online services where you can manage your accounts, file returns, and make payments securely.
The Government of Canada held the National Supply Chain Summit on January 31, 2022, hosted by Transportation Minister Omar Alghabra. The Canadian Trucking Alliance (CTA) and other stakeholders were present to discuss the key challenges and opportunities facing Canada’s supply chains and the actions and strategies required to support a robust economic recovery.

As of January 22, 2022, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) requires all Canadian drivers entering the United States for essential or non-essential reasons to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 and provide proof of vaccination.
Please note that with the extreme weather experienced in Washington that caused a closure of a number of freight routes, including the I-5 in Chehalis and Cascade passes over the weekend, it is important to stay informed about conditions, chain requirements, and closures, especially if you travel into Washington frequently.
