Travelers on the Sea to Sky Highway should be prepared for lane closures and potential delays through Lions Bay over the next two weeks due to planned highway-resurfacing work. From August 6 until August 15, crews will be resurfacing approximately four kilometers of Highway 99 southbound through Lions Bay, stretching from Magnesia Creek to Lonetree Creek. During this period, one southbound lane will be closed 24 hours a day.

As of end of July, the Sprott Street and Douglas Road intersection is now open to both eastbound and westbound traffic along Sprott Street and Canada Way. The full road closure will start on Canada Way to Spruce Street. Between Spruce Street and Norland Avenue, northbound traffic will be closed, while southbound traffic will remain open.
The Highway 17 Keating Cross Road Overpass project aims to eliminate the dangerous left turn across the busy highway. Now at its halfway point, steel bridge girders are set to be installed across the highway in the coming weeks which will require overnight closures of Highway 17 in both directions:
The intersection of Sprott Street and Douglas Road/Canada Way is closed until the end of July to replace the water main in the area. Sprott Street is closed between Canada Way and Norland Avenue, and Douglas Road is closed from Woodsworth Street to Canada Way. Drivers are advised to use alternate approved truck routes, such as Canada Way or Kensington Avenue.
As part of the Fraser Valley Highway 1 Corridor Improvement Program, specifically the Highway 1 - 216th to 264th Widening project, the Bradner Rest Area will be closed during construction beginning July 26, 2024.

Recently, trucks attempting to make a right-hand turn onto Lansdowne Street from 3rd Avenue southbound in downtown Kamloops have encountered difficulties due to ongoing construction.
As a reminder, large and heavy trucks, including composite and triple axel trucks, should avoid the downtown core unless making deliveries within the area.
The Kicking Horse Canyon will continue to have intermittent stoppages (up to 2 minutes) and full closures (up to 2 hours) on the Trans-Canada Highway through the month of July. Highway 1 will remain reduced to 2 lanes of traffic through the Canyon for the duration of the planned work.
Drivers are also reminded that the speed limit on this section of the Trans-Canada Highway is reduced to 50 km/h until the work is completed.
Changing weather patterns have severely impacted the Cariboo region in recent years, causing numerous landslides and road washouts in 2020 and 2021. The Cariboo Road Recovery Projects are underway to restore access where possible, benefiting the tens of thousands of people who rely on these roads and highways.

The major blasting operation to remove unstable material above Highway 97 north of Summerland is now finished. Drivers will encounter fewer prolonged closures of more than 20 minutes, improving travel along the corridor.
