The Information Centre site at 10382 Pat Bay Highway, North Saanich, run by the Saanich Peninsula Chamber of Commerce will be closed starting October 18, 2021, until April 2022.
During this period the site will be inaccessible to all vehicles, the washrooms will be closed, and there will be no garbage disposal available on site.

BCTA is proud to announce that the joint efforts of the BCTA-BC Ferries Task Force have resulted in a pilot late night commercial sailing on Tsawwassen – Duke Point route from September 7 to October 7, 2021. This is in direct response to the Task Force’s short-term request that consideration be given to adding commercial-only sailings (e.g. late evening/early morning).

The BC Trucking Association (BCTA) has partnered with Canadian Red Cross to source donations to support the wildfire relief efforts.
Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of British Columbians, storage for donations is beyond capacity for many organizations and transportation is desperately needed to deliver supplies to those affected by the fires.
Storage and transportation donations are needed with the following requirements:
On June 30th a devastating wildfire demolished the town of Lytton, forcing approximately 1,000 people to flee their homes. While these events are tragic and our thoughts go out to everyone impacted by these wildfires, they are also not uncommon, and like the last significant fire season in 2017 and 2018, BCTA and its members are here again to help.
On July 5, 2021, BCTA submitted a letter to the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure (MoTI) regarding mobile commercial vehicle inspections and backhauling opportunities for chip trailers. A key priority for BCTA and BC’s commercial road transportation sector is to reduce our carbon footprint without unduly affecting the affordability of goods for British Columbians, and both proposed actions will support the reduction of commercial road transportation emissions.
