We are currently seeking a Truck and Transport Journeyman Mechanic to join our Coquitlam Terminal team. This position will be responsible for all aspects of inspecting, servicing and repairing Clark Freightways’ fleet of equipment.
What You’ll Do:
- Participates in the repair and maintenance of Company fleet equipment.
- Ensures internal maintenance documentation is fully and accurately completed within the prescribed timelines.
- Assesses equipment and makes recommendations to Shop Foreman regarding repair advice when required.
- Aids in identifying possible warranty repair issues.
- Assists Shop Foreman with repair estimates, equipment specs and assessment as needed.
- Qualified technicians will be accountable for the instruction, guidance and safety of all apprentices.
- Participates in special projects assigned by Shop Foreman.
- Maintains a clean, well-organized work environment & ensures safe work practices are followed at all times.
Who You Are:
- Holds a qualified Red Seal Journeyman Truck & Transport Ticket (preferred)
- Holds a valid BC driver’s license
- Valid Commercial Vehicle Inspector (preferred)
- A professional with solid understanding and working knowledge of major truck, trailer and material components
- Proficient in English (reading, writing and verbal)
- Ability to read technical diagrams and instructions
- High compliance for safety, and a responsible work attitude
- Critical thinking, job task planning and organization skills
- Proven problem solving and decision making skills
