Membership Categories and Rates
Membership in BCTA frees you to focus on your business while we represent your interests, keep you informed, find answers to your questions, provide industry training for your staff, and provide industry products and member programs for your company. Whether you are a 1- or 100-truck operation, membership in BCTA saves you time and money, day after day.
Motor Carrier
*Includes all vehicles subject to National Safety Code Requirements. Includes owner-operator vehicles. Does not include light trucks.
BC Carrier
Companies with a BC NSC Certificate Number operating commercial vehicles over 5,000 kg GVW. Fleet includes all vehicles over 5,000 kg GVW.
- $315 for the first unit
- $63.50 for each additional unit
- $6,850 maximum
Courier/Waste/Small Vehicle/Municipal Fleet
Companies with a BC NSC Certificate Number providing courier or waste management services or operating commercial vehicles under 5,000 kg GVW.

- $30 for each additional unit
- $2,850 maximum
Motor Coach
Carriers with a BC NSC Certificate Number operating vehicles under the Passenger Transportation Act / commercial vehicles with a seating capacity of 10 or more passengers plus the driver.
- $315 for up to 7 units (total)
- $46.50 for each additional unit
- $2,850 maximum
Inter-provincial Carrier
Canadian carriers operating into BC, with no terminals or business locations in the province.
- $1,020 (flat rate)
US Carrier
US-based carriers operating into BC, with no terminals or business locations in the province.
- CAD $820 (flat rate)
Supplier
Providers of services and products to the road transportation industry may join BCTA as supplier (associate) members. (Note, supplier members were once referred to as “associated trades,” but that name doesn’t reflect the wide range of businesses that support today’s industry).
- $855 for fewer than 3 branches
- $1,555 for 3 or more branches
Shipper
Any BC-based company that purchases transportation services from trucking companies. Membership in BCTA will help shippers gain a better understanding of the trucking industry and the companies they hire. Shipper members are not eligible to vote on association matters or hold office in BCTA.
